New Orleans Saints’ playoff hopes teeter as Tyler Shough’s arm outshines a stagnant ground game. Despite ranking 15th in offensive EPA, the Saints’ -5.89 mark reveals a balanced struggle: a passing attack that’s slightly above average, led by Shough’s big-moment heroics, and a rushing unit lagging near the bottom of the NFL. Conversions on third, fourth down, and red zone chances remain strong—but what’s holding this talented roster back? Analytical breakdowns put the spotlight on the Saints’ underperforming rushing offense, which trails even teams with less personnel star power like the Browns and Jets. With players like Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller unable to break out and offensive linemen underperforming, scheme questions loom large. Can the Saints unlock their full potential after the bye, or will the lack of balance doom their offense? The search for solutions continues as defensive concerns wait in the wings.
